Meet our owners, Mike and Lora Lutz

For the Lutz family, the Genesis story began in 1980 when Mike answered an ad for service technicians at Center Point Gas (then Minnegasco). But the roots run even deeper — back to 1959 in Prior Lake, where both Mike and Lora grew and are proud Prior Lake High graduates. After Lora’s four years at St. Olaf College, they married and began building a life and family together. They have been blessed with two incredible daughters, one raising five of our beautiful grandchildren and the other the best graphic designer in the country.

During those early years, Mike launched a fulfilling 20-year career with Minnegasco, specializing in service, installation, utility work, and gas line repair.

In 2000, Mike took on a new role managing a commercial crew in Minneapolis. After a year, we embraced a new opportunity: creating a heating and air company that would eventually become Genesis Heating and Air. Today, we operate from our Prior Lake office and Savage warehouse, proudly serving the community we’ve called home for more than four decades. If you see our fleet around town, chances are we’re on the way to a neighbor’s home to install, repair, or maintain their HVAC system. Our team is one we’re incredibly proud of — skilled, dedicated, and committed to doing things the right way.

We’re grateful every day for our family, our community, and the chance to give back to the place that shaped us. Whether we’re out and about in town or cruising across Prior Lake on the pontoon, we’re always grateful to connect with the people who make this community special.

Meet Aaron

(Director of Operations)

Hi! I’m Aaron and I’ve been working at Genesis for over a year now. My wife and I both grew up in the Savage/Prior Lake community and love it so much we haven’t ever found a reason to leave. We have three beautiful children who are growing up way too fast. I love working at Genesis as it throws me many different challenges that allows me to exercise my problem solving skills. It also fits perfectly because it allows me to work closely and build relationships within my own community! In my (rare) free time I love playing pickup basketball or anything sports related

Meet Tyler

(Technician/Installer)

I’ve been in the HVAC field for 10 years now. Have a beautiful wife and family of 2 boys. When I’m not working on furnaces and a/c’s I really enjoy spending time with family and being outside whether it’s fishing at my in-laws, doing chores outside, or working on our house. I am always up for trying and learning new things. I like working in HVAC because of all the variety of work and each day brings new problems and I enjoy being able to solve them.

Meet Chris

(Service Manager)

Hello, my name is Chris Norman and I am an HVAC Technician at Genesis Heating & Air! I enjoy the outdoors a lot. Hiking, fishing, backpacking, and disc golfing are just a few of my hobbies. But mostly, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé Lexi! We have 2 cats, Chester and Mittens, who really run the house. I've been doing HVAC work for about 4 years, and have loved the work since I started! Hope to see you soon!

Meet Steve

I started out as a parts driver at my previous company. Now I’m one of the Lead Install Technicians at Genesis and I also help out doing service calls when I can. I like to hike and spend time with my family and friends during my free time.

Meet Tiffany

(Admin)

Hi, I’m Tiffany, the Office Administrator here at Genesis Heating and Air! I handle data entry and manage our social media, which I really enjoy 🙂 God has blessed me with a wonderful husband (Tyler- who also works here at Genesis) and two amazing sons. We live on a small hobby farm and have dogs, cats, and lots of chickens. We like to do 4-wheeler rides around the farm and the boys both love “helping” their dad mow the lawn. I also really enjoy being around my siblings (plus the extras) and parents and try to get together with them as often as I can. I love when all of us are able to get together- especially up at my parents. We all like to go out on the boats and fish or just hang out and there’s always great food involved. I also enjoy cooking, baking (cinnamon rolls are my specialty), and singing.
